Tope Alabi is a singer, film music composer, and actress. Before she was a gospel artist, Tope was massively into acting. She is a former member of the Jesters International comedy group and has worked with various travelling and stage theatre groups in different parts of Nigeria. She has a background in mass communication yet her love for music and drama was evident.

Tim Godfery is often referred to as the Nigerian Kirk Franklin. He also works as a music teacher, producer, music director, songwriter, and vocal instructor. He began professionally singing in 2003.

One of his most famous songs is Nara where he featured singer Travis Greene.

Other known songs by Tim Godfery include Na You Be God, Victor, Miracles Everywhere, Iyo, and Hallelujah. Tim Godfery is the owner of the record label Rox Nation.

7. Ada Ehi

Ada Ehi is one of the best female gospel singers in Nigeria. She started singing at the age of ten as a backup singer for child star Tosin Jegede. The 36-years-old Ada Ehi began her professional career in 2009, and her music has been getting massive airplay since then. She is a member of the Christ Embassy choir and has been performing at Christ Embassy events across Europe, America, and Africa.

Ada Ehi has two albums under her name, Undenied released in 2009, and Lifted & So Fly released in 2013. Popular singles by Ada Ehi include Our God Reigns, Only You Jesus, I Overcame, Jesus (You Are Able), and Fix My Eyes on You, where she featured Sinach.

8. Nikki Laoye

Nikki Laoye’s energy on stage is one incredible thing about her. She is a Nigerian singer, dancer, humanitarian, songwriter, and actress. Her live performances are engaging and touching to everyone who watches her.

Nikki started singing professionally in 2005. Her style can be described as an urban contemporary sound with a blend of alternative rock, gospel, and soul. She began her rise to fame in 2006 when she released the song Never Felt This Way Before. Her work in philanthropy has earned her recognition by the Nigerian government.

Nikki Laoye is the founder of Angel 4 Life Foundation, an NGO where she mentors talented youth who are differently-abled.

9. Eben

Eben was born Emmanuel Benjamin. The 40-years-old vocalist, singer, and songwriter started as a rapper when he was younger before switching to being a gospel singer. His appearance at a youth conference organized by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome in 2005 marked the beginning of his popularity.

Eben performed the single Imaranma, which was loved by everyone at the conference. He released his debut album two years later, which featured the popular Imaranma, God Dey, Iwo Nikan, and I Don Hammer, among other songs. Eben dropped his second album in 2010 and released his third in 2013.

10. Samsong

Samson Uche Mogekwu started singing in high school where he got the stage name Samsong. Before going into a solo career, Samsong was a member of the quartet known as Praise Creation, formed in 1991. The quartet’s first album, Best of Life, was released in 1996. As a solo artist, Samsong’s first major project was his debut CD titled Count Your Blessings that was released in 2002. He has since released four other major collections in 2004, 2007, 2010, and 2015. Samsong is signed to the label Boogie Down Concept.

Davido and Lil Baby Share Video for New Song “So Crazy”: Watch

Nigerian artiste Davido and Atlanta rapper Lil Baby have come together for the new song “So Crazy.” The track, produced by Nick Papz and Xander, arrives with a music video directed by David Wept. It was filmed in Los Angeles.

“I’ve known Lil Baby for quite a while, and I think it’s important that I point this out: When you are collaborating on a record, you need to make sure that the relationship is good outside of music,” Davido said in a statement. “I feel like that is when you make the best music.”

“So Crazy” will appear on Davido’s next album A Better Time, which is set for release this Friday, November 13 (via Davido Worldwide Entertainment/Sony Music UK/RCA Records). The LP follows last year’s A Good Time.

Davido had an interview with Rolling Stone on the 5th of November 2020. He spoke about how the pandemic influenced the creation of his highly anticipated album ‘A Better Time‘ and adapting to the new state of things.

During his interview Rolling Stone, Davido expressed the negative and positive impact the pandemic had on his career. He said:

I’ve recorded so much music. The only thing I could do was get in the studio. That’s one of the positive things that the pandemic brought to my career. It made me focus more, definitely, being in the studio, having nowhere to go. The only place I could be was at home. So I just made sure I was just recording and recording. I probably recorded like two albums already, apart from A Better Time.

O.B.O (Omo Baba Olowo) as he is also fondly called by friends and acquaintances, expressed how he misses being able to perform physically to a live audience and how he is adapting to the new wave of things as an artist.

My most favorite thing about being a musician and making music is being on the road, being able to perform, being able to go on tour. But we’re learning to live with it. The other day I did a Livestream-type show. It was a link you had to click and watch. It was pretty cool, but it’s not really the same. Social media helps cross that bridge, but at the same time, it’s just not the same.

The FEM crooner revealed how he stumbled on the A Better Time album, as he intentions were to promote his previous album ‘A Good Time‘ via tours but then the pandemic happened and then he maximized the free times to create music: He said:

I didn’t plan the album. I just dropped A Good Time, almost exactly a year ago. My plan was to tour with the A Good Time album. Do America and go to Europe, and then I was meant to go to Asia, Australia, and do mad festivals. That being said, we had to cancel the whole tour, obviously, because of the pandemic. So I was like, “You know what, I’m not about to just sit at home and not do nothing.” So I got back in the studio, and funny enough, I was making better music than I had previously dropped, and we just kept going. Before I knew it I had 20 songs in the studio, all done and recorded and finished. Then I was like, “Should I just put it out?”

Davido went further to say:

I was thinking of putting out like a little quarantine playlist. But then, I was like, “Nah, I think I want to release another body of work.” My sophomore album was called A Good Time, so, obviously, A Better Time, it’s a better album. You know what I’m saying? I took my time. Better visuals, better production, everything as a whole package. I’ve never really had time to refocus, sit down, and record a project, because I’m always on tour. I’m always all over the place. For the first time I had the opportunity to sit down and focus with my producers and take our time on each and every song.
