Dangote first wife was chosen for him in 1977 when he was 20 years old, Aliko Dangote once fell in love with Nafisat Yar’adua, the daughter of the late Nigerian President, Umaru Musa Yar’adua GCFR. Nafisat Yar’adua declined his marriage proposal because Dangote’s daughter was her friend. Nafisat later married Alhaji Isa Yuguda who was the Executive Governor of Bauchi State between May 29, 2007 – May 29, 2015, and became his fourth wife at the age of 21 in 2009.

Dangote later married Mariya A D Muhammad Rufai, daughter of The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Human Services in Buchi state. This martial bliss did not last long as it ended up in divorce.
