Sanwo-Olu gives new directives on Lagos lockdown

- Also, Sanwo-Olu directed that all schools in the state will remain closed until further notice Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu has given new directives following the national broadcast of President Muhammadu Buhari which effectively changed the lockdown status of the state.
The president who had in his broadcast directed a partial reopening of the state said governors are free to modify the directive based on their state’s peculiarities. In line with this, the Lagos governor has on Wednesday, April 29, directed that all schools in the state remain closed while at the same time suspending all commercial motorcycling (Okada) operation.
Going further, the governor said markets in the state will open from 9am to 3pm on selected days. “All entertainment centres including gyms, spa, recreational facilities inside private estates are to remain closed for two weeks. This would be reviewed after 2 weeks,” the governor added. Also, Sanwo-Olu imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in the state from Monday, May 4. Specifically, curfew starts at 8pm to 6am.
