APC: Party members, staff rejoice over Oshiomhole’s suspension

Party members and some staff of the party at the National Headquarters on Wednesday rejoiced over the suspension of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The staff at the National Headquarters if the party located on Blantyre Street in Abuja were seeing gathering in groups and rejoicing over Oshiomhole’s suspension.

Some, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the National Chairman should eat humble pie and not apply for a stay of execution.

According to them, the party had suffered high setbacks because of the crisis in the party.

Similarly, some party chieftains said that the suspension of the National Chairman would bring sanity to the party.

According to them, the party has been so divided that so many chieftains have stayed away.

However, the APC National Vice Chairman, North East, Comrade Salihu Mustapha has said that the National Chairman has ceased to be the chairman of the party.

According to Mustapha, henceforth any directives given by the National Chairman should not be honoured and if honoured would be illegal.

He alleged that the suspended National Chairman was about to issue a statement announcing Arc. Waziri Bulama as the Acting National Secretary.

“Any such statement from the Oshiomhole is illegal,”  Mustapha said

Speaking to the media, through a telephone conversation, Mustapha, said: “Immediately the court injunction was given, the National Chairman had called the party National Publicity Secretary to issue a statement to the press that Bulama is the Acting National Secretary of the Party.

“I believe you guys are aware of the meeting held about a month ago on that matter, which ended without a decision. Since then there has not been a decision as to the replacement of the secretary.

“The chairman is about to create more chaos within the party as he gave the order.

“The public should know that any decision that Oshiomhole makes henceforth is an illegal decision and will not hold.

“We will keep our fingers crossed until the court decides. I am saying this so that there can be no two Acting National Secretaries and there can be no affirmation from a national chairman that has been suspended.”

Hi, I'm Jadesola and if you've been here a while, you'll know that Ekomiami has always existed without a face. That changes now. I founded this platform in Lagos in 2018, originally as a space for entertainment and celebrity news. Over time and across continents my world grew bigger and so did my curiosity. Today, Ekomiami is what it was always quietly becoming: a home for travel, food, arts, and culture, told through the eyes of someone navigating the world from a very particular vantage point. With a background in content and media production. I write and create about the places I go, the food I find, and the experiences that make travel feel like more than a holiday. You'll find me in Bordeaux wine bars, on Albanian coastlines, in English market towns, and at restaurant tables taking notes between courses. The name "Ekomiami", "Lagos to Miami" has always been about movement, ambition, and showing up somewhere new. Seven years in, I'm stepping out from behind it. Welcome to the journey, properly.
